I am using 'Iskolapotha ' the standard Sinhala unicode font which is built in to Windows.

This problem occurred after I have installed Word 2016. I even uninstalled Windows 10 and switched back to Windows 8.1 thinking it was a problem with the Windows 10. But problem prevails

In the email programmes I can write perfectly well words like බෝවේවා using Iskolapotha font. But in Words 2016 the combination parts of the letters does not stick together. It will be bit difficult to understand if you are not familiar with Sinhala scripts. Is there is a way for me to send an image of the problematic Word page?

Word takes many settings from printer. Let's change the default printer to Microsoft XPS Document Writer and verify the result.

I have the same problem. Started after upgrading to Word 2016.

For example when typing the word දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව in Sinhala Unicode font Iskolapotha, Word 2016 automatically switches two letters in the middle from ර්ත to තර් , resulting in the word දෙපාතර්මේන්තුව which is an incorrect word.

I tried setting the default printer to XPS printer as mentioned but the issue is not resolved. This seem to be a bug in Word 2016.

find a windows 10 image x86 x64 for your choice of windows or make a image of your windows cd

Next find and install power iso or imaging software and make a virtual drive and mount the windows image

go inside and go to sources folder then to sxs folder see weather there is the winrar nf file

finally open the cmd as run as administrator and paste the following command

Type In Sinhala App

' Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /All /Source:F:sourcessxs /LimitAccess ' edit the letter of the drive for example if it's you F or D or etc.

Done ! Enjoy

I want to make a web page where user can search something using Sinhala Unicode, just typing in a text box, not copy and paste using a converter like this.

I found a question in a forum about exactly what I want, but I didn't get it well. It tells to use <input type='text'>.

Try www.EasySinhalaTyping.com. Here you can type in Sinhala Online and also Download and Install Sinhala Typing Software on your PC - So you can type Sinhala even without internet connection.
